RICE WITH GROUND MEAT (roz bil laham mafrum)
4C rice basmati
8C water
1/3C oil
1/4C Almonds
1/4C Pine nuts
400gms ground beef
3 large carrots-shredded
1 large green pepper-thin slice
1 tsp salt
1pcs MAGGI beef stock
1/2 tsp black pepper powder
1/2 tsp white pepper powder
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cumin
How to prepare:
Wash rice and soak in salted water for 30 minutes.
Place oil in a medium casserole, add almond and stir until golden, remove and keep aside. Add pine nuts, fry until golden, remove and keep aside.
Add ground beef/meet and stir well 5-8minutes until meat is cooked and dry. Add carrots, green pepper, salt, cumin, black pepper powder, white pepper powder, cinnamon and MAGGI, stir for a minute. Add water. Bring to boil, leave on high heat for 2-3 minutes or until most of the water is absorbed. Cover casserole tightly and simmer or low heat 20-25 minutes until rice is cooked and dry.
Serve in the platter and sprinkle with nuts.
Note:-Serve this rice with salad and plain yogurt as a light meal for lunch or dinner
